Bengali new year (Poila Baisakh) is around the corner. This year we have taken another new initiative to start Bengali class for our little friends. We are encouraging our kids to join so that they feel more inclusive, involved and adapted to the Bengali culture. We will teach them Bengali songs, poems, and language.
We will host our first class on April 15th, venue details will be shared in our next communication.
There will be 4 classes per month. 3 of those classes will be virtual through zoom and 1 class will be in person. Goal is to “Learn and have fun!!”, our main goal is to get the students more comfortable speaking in Bengali first.
They will also be encouraged to understand and comprehend Bengali songs and poems.

নমস্কার স্বজনের বন্ধুরা।
আমাদের বাঙালির প্রাণের উৎসব নববর্ষে প্রায় কাছেই। আমরা আমাদের ছোটো বন্ধুদের জন্য এই প্রথম শুরু করতে চলেছি সম্পুর্ণ অবৈতনিক বাংলা ক্লাস পাঠশালা। স্বজনের সদস্য-পরিবারের ছেলেমেয়েদের জন্যই মুলত এই উদ্দোগ।
আমরা যারা প্রবাসী তারা প্রত্যেকেই চাই আমাদের বাচ্চারা আমাদের মাতৃভাষা বাংলা শিখুক, তারা বাংলা গান, কবিতা, সংস্কৃতি এগিয়ে নিয়ে চলুক। আমাদের পাঠশালা তাদের জন্য এক দারুণ সুযোগ ।
এপ্রিলের ১৫ তারিখ থেকে আমরা আমাদের প্রথম ক্লাস শুরু করব। প্রতি মাসেই ৪টি ক্লাসের মধ্যে ৩টি ক্লাস হবে ভার্চুয়ালি, ১টি হবে শারীরিকভাবে উপস্থিতির মাধ্যমে যেখানে বাচ্চারা নিজেদের মধ্যে একটু আনন্দ করতে পারবে। শুরুতে আমাদের লক্ষ্য হবে বাচ্চাদের বাংলায় কথা বলাতে উৎসাহ বাড়ানো, এর সাথে সাথে বাচ্চারা যাতে বাংলায় গল্প, গান কবিতা বুঝতে পারে এবং তাতে উৎসাহিত হয়ে অংশগ্রহণ করে!
আমরা ভবিষ্যতে সব মা-বাবার কাছ থেকে আরো অভিমত, মতামত, টিপ্পনি সংগ্রহ করবো যাতে আমাদের এই বাংলা ক্লাসটি আরো পারস্পরিক শিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে সর্বাধিক ফলপ্রসূ হতে পারে।
আশা করি, সবাই সঙ্গে থাকবেন। দেখা হবে সবার সাথে। সবার সুস্থতা কামনা করে শেষ করছি আজকের মতো।
