In the midst of a cold early spring weather Swajan held its 2022 Edition of Holi. Despite the weather, our family members showed out with full energy and enthusiasm. With beautiful colors being spread around the park, it certainly felt like the colors of the spring season were coming in early. Friends chased each other with colors and smeared them from one side of the face to another. The laughter by the warm heater where many were huddled up by called for a moment to remember. Warm chai was passed around from one person to another. It was truly a moment where you could see the “family” environment between each member as everyone had lots of care for each other so no one would end up sick following the event. An assortment of Indian music was played throughout the day. One of them being everyone’ favorite Holi song: Balam Pichkari. A day full of dance and memories concluded with warm biryani for all to settle down with. The smell of Indian spices filled the air as everyone gathered on their benches munching down on their food after the long day.
